wiping computer

I would like to wipe my computer and start again.

How do I do it?

RE: wiping computer

did it come with a factory-settings restore disk?
did it come with a windows CD?
what brand of machine is it?
what operating system is it?
model number?
do you understand what FDISK and FORMAT means?

RE: wiping computer

One more CRITICAL question, assuming that you are running Windows, does it have the licence sticker on the case with the licence key? If not, the first thing you must do is find out the licence key that you are currently using. There are tools available to do this, Google for "Magic Jelly Bean Key finder" and download that program. It will tell you your licence key.

RE: wiping computer

I suppose we should have said "have you read the manual?"
Recovery methods vary from one manufacturer to another, but are usually well documented: after all the reason for the recovery process is to minimise support calls, so thats one thing that always gets a decent write-up in the manuals
