About reseting my acer aspire 5310

Hi guys, I have a Acer aspire 5310 and I need to reset the computer. I heard that there is this function in Acer aspire 5310 where you can press f2 and then it will reset the windows or basically you can make the computer the way you got in the beginning (format everything and install windows(have windows vista) and all the drivers?)

Is this true, another problem is that I don't have the windows cd or even not the serial number(which has gone from the back of the computer)

1: Do I need CD or some numbers to do this?
2: Or can I reinstall everything from the computer, easy?

Thank you in advance!

RE: About reseting my acer aspire 5310

at startup you need to tap Alt+F10, details are in this post

Just for completion, the user manual for that machine (which contains more info re the recovery system is here while the service manual is available from here

Sorry Jon being enigmatic early on.

Used my ancient stand alone Dell Optiplex 270 which is kept for this sort of "opportunity" to open this url.

Its something called adf.ly which offer a stream of unbelievably wonderful things to download. Maybe.

RE: About reseting my acer aspire 5310

the adf.ly system supposedly offers a URL shortening service
however it seems to pay for that in placing adverts over the website. However, when I tried that link the DNS server refused it - suggesting that the link directs to malware
Always a risk you run when using a URL shortening service - you're relying on the honesty of the author
