Blue Screen Error messages
I have recently been experiencing 2 types of Stop Codes:
1. Sometimes when starting up, more often when shutting down - Stop: 0x0000000A (0x00000000, 0x0000001C, 0x00000001, 0x804FB03C)
2. In the middle of playing a downloaded PC game - Stoop: 0x000000D1 (0x000000A8, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xF6417DE:8)
My operating system is Windows XP Home edition Service Pack 3 on a Dell Dimension E520
Can't figure out the 1st one at all. Further info. on the 2nd error gives me a Code 12 error on my Modem - Conexant D850 56K V.9x DFVc Says doesn't have enough resources to run (or something like that) but there are no conflicting devices!
Please advise.

RE: Blue Screen Error messages
Both of those tend towards a driver problem. Have you checked if there are any driver updates for your machine? Particularly things like modem or games device/joystick etc.

RE: Blue Screen Error messages
could be faulty hardware causing a device driver to load incorrectly, however personal experience of both errors indicates these are USUALLY due to faulty memory The bad memory menas the drivers can't load up
Stop: 0x0000000A = IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Stop: 0x000000D1 = DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
However, could be a faulty motherboard - or even a bad hard drive (causing a bad swap file...)

RE: Blue Screen Error messages
Yes, I've already checked for driver updates and all my drivers have latest available updates.

RE: Blue Screen Error messages
I guess the best thing then is to take it to a technician? Is there a way to check and correct faulty memory?

RE: Blue Screen Error messages
There are memory testing programs available to download. The best known is probably MemTest86. You can download it and burn the program to a CD to run it.
Any good technician would have a copy with him anyway.

RE: Blue Screen Error messages
Thanks, Alan, will try that.
Sorry, Jon, unless you or one of your company's technicians want to take a trip to the Caribbean, I don't think that would be feasible. I live in Trinidad! :)

RE: Blue Screen Error messages
Denise If you pay the air fair I'll fix the computer for free... I see that may still not be cost effective though....

RE: Blue Screen Error messages
Ha! Ha! Ha! True! It may be more cost effective for me just to buy a new computer! Thanks for your help, though.
