RE: flash install
As a follow on from the last post, these are the tools / webpages are going to need !) flash removal tool http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html 2) SubInAcl http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49419.html 3) manual flash installers https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
First use the removal tool to clear out existing Flash installations, reboot, then try reinstalling as normal. If that fails, run the removal tool again, then go to the page about SubInAcl. Read carefully and follow the instructions there. You will have to download software from Microsoft and Adobe to clear out the registry. Once done, try reinstalling If that fails run the removal tool, run SubInAcl AGAIN, go to the manual downloads page and try installing the file "Windows Flash Player 1 Projector" If it won't work after that, give up. Install Firefox and install the plugin version of Flash instead....
Something to watch out for - the latest version of Flash are incompatible with RealPlayer (the Youtube video download feature clashes with flash) so IF Realplayer is installed, remove it first

RE: flash install
I've been stuck a couple of times like that and never got to the bottom of it - had to reload the machines each time before it worked Other than manually picking through the registry line by line theres not a lot more you can try. Or give Adobe a call and see what they think?
