Cant upgrade

got new computer vista premium and trying to upgrade the old one basic home by file transfer but hasent worked what do i do

You need a Windows Vista CD to do an upgrade.

what Richard probably means but was too discrete to say, was that you need to purchase the appropriate upgrade package asnd upgrade legally.
No-one here is going to tell you how to break copyright protection.
