There are a lot of problems that could cause this. You could have a hardware issue or it could just be a software problem. A Windows corruption is quite a common cause of this and is fixed by re-installing Windows. I would suggest that an IT professional gives your machine the once over to assess that best route for repair. Most don't charge to have a quick look as long as you get it to them.
Hi Colin, There should definitely be a COA license sticker with the product key on the side or the back of the case. If there isn't, this would be the first time I have seen that in 12 years! However, at the end of the day someone in the factory has to stick it to the case - so you never know. You are looking for a code that is 25 digits long (numbers and letters) and each group of 5 digits is seperated by a dash. Acer can be difficult to get hold of. It's best to try calling them outside of the busy lunchtime period. The contact number I have for Acer warranty is 0870 853 1000. Another good point of contact will be the reseller that sold the PC to you. Have a chat with them and they may be able to help you. I hope this helps. Regards, Kevin
