On another note, the previous comment about getting rid of the bT Home Hub is not advice i would give out. The BT Home Hub is a great little device that works, does what it says on the tin and is supported by BT when you call them for any issues ( a great boon tho the non IT savvy) Allowing others to use the very small bandwith part is something that can easily be turned off if you know what to do or with a quick phone call to BT supoprt. Keep the BT box. It is 100% configurable and is worth keeping even if it is just to allow BT to support you if you have to ring them. Pete
Hi Rita, Any IT support need to start form the absolute basics. Sometimes, IT guys get a bit bogged down assuming something without checking the obvious and leading you up the garden path to confusion. I can't see that you've told us what the exact brand or model number of the USB wireless connectior is. Wireless-g is a generic type. If we knew the model, we could make sure you had the correct drivers. After that I would then get you to check the specific settings on the USB socket ... even as simple as plugging in another USB device to see if it worked ( this is dead easy to explain even to a novice) This is something that could very easily be resolved in a very short time by an plain speaking and user friendly IT professional talking to you on the phone. However, if you could use a network cable on a broadband box then using remote screen takeover, we could look at the problem and easily solve it. You would not need to know anything techinical to do any of this. The IT professional should be good enough to do it with thier eyes shut. If it was a hardware issue then we could point you in th right direction to get that fixed as well. Hope this helps. Pete
