RE: 3 dongle was working now won't give network access
use the "Safely remove hardware" option when removing usb devices. Sometimes they can become damaged and data lost if the usb device is not set to "optimise for quick removal" in Windows. Click on the upward pointing arrow (show hidden icons)near the clock on the bottom right hand side of the screen (system tray) to see what looks like a usb device and a green green tick. Then select the device you want to remove. Rob
RE: 3 dongle wont work with windows 7
An attempt at Windows Compatibilty Wizard might be helpful to you. ;) or: Right click on the .exe (in C:\program files\ or C:\program files(x86) and then click on compatibilty tab. Select xp sp3. apply and ok out and then reboot. I'm not saying it will definitely work for you, but it's been a saviour in the past in many cases for me. Rob
Hi. Why is the reformat necessary? Do you have any of the original restore disks? If the pc came without restore disks, did the owner burn the recovery disk at all? When you say reformat.. you realise this means completely wiping the hard drive? Often a pc can be recovered by other methods. For example try SFC /Scannow from the Run Prompt. If it is virus damage, then you need to get some tools, such as spybot S&D (or malwarebytes) and Kaspersky virus removal tool. There are whole range of tools depending on the symptoms that could be useful here. Please respond with symptoms and operating system and any antivirus / security software installed. As much detail as possible please. It all helps. Thannks. Rob
