RE: my pc makes a groaning sound on start up,then the sound subsides,do i need to have it checked
very difficult to diagnose sounds/noises over the forum, it could be simply the bearings of a fan (CPU, extraction, PSU etc) "groaning" or worse the hard drive failing. Either way, yes I'd get it checked ASAP as a precaution - you do not want a vital component failing later on and the problem being much more serious.
