The validation code is an code used internally by PB for Tech's replacing harddisks. I did one by hand before by manually doing the components. It's due to a hidden sector 0 on the disk storing the info for the bios lock as well. If they don't match it asks for a validation code. Your best taking it to a local pc store or booking a job on here to get someone to install your OS for you as PB charge a lot more to send someone out just to type in the code.
Hi, Most ISP's resell BT Resale, some like sky/tiscali have their own kit in the exchange. If you have sky TV then you can get sky bb for little money which I use myself. However the support level varies from call to call. Alan posted most of the main players however you can check exactly who has kit at your exchange at http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php Mark
Hi, Some models share the same "outer shell" with other models in that range and they simply put diffrent insides on them. While it might say webcam on it, it doesn't mean theres one in it afraid. As Alan said I've also checked the spec's and I can not see any variation of this model number with a webcam. If it was sold as having a webcam when you bought it you can take it back to the store and return it under the sales of goods act.
