RE: fax modem

You must have Vista Home or Home Premium which does not have the fax software, unless you want to upgrade to Vista Business then try looking here, Beware that when it sya 'free' it may just be a trial or demo and you may have to pay for the full version. Dave.

RE: Free antivirus software

Daniel I would choose Nod32 or Bit Defender, both have a good reputation and do have a subscription. They also have a much smaller 'footprint' than Norton or McAfee.

RE: fax modem

Daphne To send and receive faxes using a modem, firstly make sure that you've attached an analog phone line to your computer. Windows will automatically detect your modem during the setup process. Click the Start button , click All Programs, and then click Windows Fax and Scan. Click New Fax on the toolbar, and then, in the Fax Setup Wizard, follow the instructions for connecting to a fax modem. This should work - good luck. Dave.
