Hi Amarnath - when you use the laptop is it unplugged from the adapter, or are you keeping it plugged in? Do you get any error messages or notifications advising that the battery is low? Most modern laptops have a battery life of somewhere between 1 and 3 hours (dependant on the model). If you're charging the battery and then disconnecting it fully then this is to be expected.
RE: Not able to install Nero 8
Hi Adam, First thing to try is a simple restart of the machine. If you have any other old Nero software on your machine, ensure you remove it completely via the Add/Remove Programs option in the control panel. Can you confirm - are you using XP or Vista?
Hi Biki, It sounds like either the battery isn't connecting properly or your motherboard has died - I would recommend you contact an IT Professional and ask them to take a look at it. What model laptop is it - how old is it? Cheers, Adam
Hi Roger, There could be a number of issues causing this problem, however I suspect the most likely cause of the problem is "spyware" or adware which has got onto your machine. You don't specify if you have any anti-virus software, if you have, update and run a full scan. If you DON'T have antivirus software, go to http://www.avast.com and download the free home edition of the software, install and schedule a "boot time" scan (you get an option to do this while installing) - then restart and let Avast run through the scan. After that's complete, reconnect to the internet and go to http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html, and download Spybot Search & Destroy (the download link is about 2/3rds of the way down the page). Install it, check for updates and then run a full scan. Finally, restart the PC and then see how things have improved - post back here with your results and we'll go into it in more depth if needed. Hope this helps, Adam
Is it a Medion PC? When you say "Reboot", that just means to restart it - do you mean reformat (as in, wipe everything and reload it from the recovery CD?)
RE: hp pavilion desktop used f10 Pc recovery in error to delete a program now cannot log on/access
If you've run the recovery CD there's a high probability that some of the critical windows system files are missing. Can you post the full error message as it appears on screen? It may be possible to recover the system without having to rebuild the computer from scratch - but I need the exact error before I know if we can go down this route. Cheers, Ad
