Trinity Rescue Kit is the best tool i have found for removing user passwords in all versions of windows. Download here: http://trinityhome.org/Home/index.php?content=TRINITY_RESCUE_KIT____CPR_FOR_YOUR_COMPUTER&front_id=12&lang=en&locale=en
the answer could be uninstall the drivers for the dongle restart the computer and plug the dongle in, then reinstall the drivers or check if there are any updates for the dongle. hope this helps
To Reboot your laptop you can either hold the power button in for about a minute and the let go and press it again to start the laptop again or you can remove the laptop battery and that will turn it of then replace the battery and press the power button to turn on. If you mean in windows then its Start,at the bottom of the menu Restart. Hope this helps.
Sounds like you are in need of a new or refurbished DVD/CD drive they are generally quite good value to get ranging from £7 to around £45 and should last another six years or even longer they also come with warranties which cover if the fail within warranties.
