Slow Computer, General Check Up

Customer's Description:

Computer slow to start up and slow to get to Internet (7 minutes minimum). Internet speed seems OK (just changed to SKY). Laptop used by two inexperienced OAPs, one with more knowledge than the other, but limited. We think it needs general health check/clean out/etc. We have Windows XP installed.
