Slow Computer, General Check Up

Customer's Description:

Hi I have a MacBook Pro that I purchased approximately years ago. For the last months it has started to run slowly when opening applications and surfing the net. My gut feeling is that the hard drive is full since I have years of photos stored but obviously I'm no expert. I have unsuccessfully tried to move the photos to a separate hard drive. I would also like to update my applications - specifically iMovies and Keynote.
