POP3 & STMP

I am setting up a BT email address for a friend on her PC but I don't know what to put in the POP3 and STMP boxes. I have tried all the obvious ones but they haven't been acceptable and I'm on Orange so can't copy mine!

Could someone advise what they should be please.

Hi Liza,

You can get your SMTP and POP3 settings from the BT people. You need to call them and ask for those settings.

Thanks

RE: POP3 & STMP

pop and smtp are both mail.btinternet.com

You will also need to turn on smtp authentication as well

RE: POP3 & STMP

derr.. just spotted the typo in my answer
I MEANT to say what Richard did three mins later...

Anyway, I found the alternate Yahoo settings
If the BT servers at mail.btinternet.com fail (as they do sometims) you can pick up BT mail via the Yahoo secure servers
This gives the details - note the port settings
