very difficult to diagnose sounds/noises over the forum, it could be simply the bearings of a fan (CPU, extraction, PSU etc) "groaning" or worse the hard drive failing. Either way, yes I'd get it checked ASAP as a precaution - you do not want a vital component failing later on and the problem being much more serious.

My guess would be the same as James' first thought, a fan bearing that is wearing out.

Beware, worn out hard disks can make the same noise...

I'd gamble on the most likely being a graphics card fan, followed by a PSU fan
