apple mac .unable to download programmes

for some reason i am unable to download programmes, any ideas?

Are you using Safari or Firefox?

Is this a new problem or one that you've always had?

When you click on a link to download something what happens?

are they computer programs or television / iplayer programmes?

What sort of Mac are you using? Which operating system?
