Three Dongle (Sharing)
Hoping to get some help to a problem that has been bothering me for days now! I use a three dongle to connect to Xbox live and it works no bother the one I was using was a zte dongle and it was fine, anyway I upgraded to there new Huawei E3231 dongle as it is better with better speeds etc.. I thought it would be able to share the connection the same way I did before and connect to Xbox live. Well I was wrong I can set the connection to share but it just won't connect to live I have tried someone many times and I just don't understand why it wont work! Can anyone help me out here? Thank You

RE: Three Dongle (Sharing)
Hi Kevin. Personally I've never used one of these 3 dongles but as you can see these pages are stuffed with users problems, the normal response to these is to "seek help from 3". Your case leads me to suspect the wireless settings as the new dongle may be using a new technology that your Xbox isn't set to communicate with. If you still have your old dongle use it to connect and check what chennel etc. it is communicating on. Apart from the wireless channel there will be settings like "wireless b/g, b+g" etc so check those too. If you then swap to the new dongle and replicate those settings then you may have a chance of connecting the Xbox to it. Sorry if I'm talking rubbish :\

RE: Three Dongle (Sharing)
I ASSUME (all I can do as we've been given little to go on) that the dongle is connected to a PC, and has then been shared as a connection
Again, I'd assume the problem is that the old connection is still shared across the network, and the xbox is trying to access that.
The old connection need to be unshared, and all traces of it removed. Then internet sharing needs to be setup for the new connection and that set as default.

RE: Three Dongle (Sharing)
Thanks very much for the reply's, on the old dongle it was ever so simple just a case of connecting dongle to laptop then running a ethernet cable from laptop to Xbox and sharing the connection which worked fine, I checked these settings and it connects via a modem. I then tried the new dongle and noticed that it didn't use a modem it actually uses a Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device, do you think this could be a problem? Thank you very much. Kevin
