I purchased a toshiba laptop on 7.8.08 from currys in craigavon n.i, suddenly yesterday it lost its wireless connection, my pc is working perfectly so inorder to use the laptop we have to plug it in to the wireless modem. The laptop is a Toshiba p300-16T23702G. I am not very happy about this as you can appreciate, this laptop was bought for my daughter for her home work.

Have a look on the laptop for a wireless switch. There is sometimes a switch you have to press to enable/disable the wireless functionality. It is often very small and well hidden, but it could have been pressed accidentally.

If there is not a switch there is sometimes a wireless on-off key on the keyboard. If so the wireless symbol (looks like a radio mast, if you use your imagination) will be in blue - you have to hold down the blue Fn key in order to use the blue wireless key.

its still under warranty - call the Dixons/Currys "Tech Guys" support line and ask them to checkit with you over the phone. The internal wireless card could have failed or come loose

Whatever - if the wireless card has failed, as seems probable (new machine, most likely time to fail) you need to speak to them

thankyou for your reply, the techguys told me to try this site. I took the machine back to curry's yesterday and got a new samsung laptop which is a much better one. Thank you again.
