I''m trying to get connected to a wireless connection 3others in my house have internet working no

I''m trying to get connected to a wireless connection 3others in my house have internet working no problems and i have installed everything and double checked it but it still will not work. When i enter the password for my connection it says that it only excepts or characteristics and the password is so i''m very confused. Its a Belkin rooter and wireless adapter.

Windows XP or Vista?
WEP or WPA?
If WEP open or shared key?
Are you using the Windows ZEN system or the Belkin software
are you getting an error message? What are the actual symptoms?

I'm guessing that you're using Xp's default wireless card "properties". If so you'll need tio enter a "hex" code, this will be a Alphanumeric code. Ask one of your housemates to connect to the router, within the "wireless" settings, you'll proberly see the passcode / password that was set and below this wil be the "hex" code, make a note and enter this into the wireless security settings within XP.

not as aimple as that - if its WPA its not a hex code, but a password. Also you need to set whether its WEP or WPA. Belkin routers are usually set to WPA while XP defaults to "open" WEP
Besides which Belkin cards by default DON@T use ZEN - they use their own interface. Even if you set then to ZEN they usually revert after a few days
