3 dongle fault

3 dongle fault

Hi,i use my 3 dongle on my laptop,the problem is after maybe 20mins of use all of a sudden my laptop freezes,i am vista,the only way to try again is to turn it of then reboot,any ideas,thaxs

check the machine for worms viruses etc
does the machine do this if you don't have the dongle in?

from previous posts there seems to be a possible trend in some of these dongles drawing too much power from the USB port and causing overheating (and potentially burnout), but this is only a suspicion
You should speak to the "3" support team and see what they say: after all it is their kit, and you have a contract with them

no,my laptop works fine until i put the dongle in,when im at home i connect to our router no probs & it works fine,i can only presume it dosent like the dongle.if i uninstall then reinstall it seems to do the trick for a short time.

then speak to "3"
you have to assume its a fault with the dongle

Well either it is the dongle hardware that is at fault or there is a clash between the dongle software and some other software running on your computer. If possible, try the dongle on another computer. It it has the same problem there then you KNOW it is the dongle and you can complain to "3".

my 3 dongle is sayin ive got to top up its suspose to be free years internet so i dont know what im suspose to do

You're "suspose" (supposed) to contact 3. Yours is a contractual problem, a computer support forum cannot help.

and it bears repeating yet again

WE ARE NOTHING TO DO WITH "3"

anyone with an issue with a "3" dongle should speak to "3". Especially contractual problems such as this
