RE: Ram upgrade

You don't. If the correct RAM is fitted correctly, it should recognise it and change the value displayed. If it is not showing up, either you have the wrong type of RAM, it is not fitted correctly, or it is faulty.

What type did you fit, and what was in there before?

RE: Ram upgrade

I removed 2x 512 200 Pin SO DIMM DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz and replaced them wit 2x 1G 200 Pin SO DIMM DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz.

On the original boot with the 512 it showed 1024 with 766 available because of the vista graphic card. With the 2x 1G in it shows exactly the same.

With eah of the 1G individually it shows 1024 with 333 and runs slowly.

Each 1

RE: Ram upgrade

something off about the configuration of that machine
on the spec page there are some strange comments about the memory

"system will accept 4GB of DDR333 or 400 memory or DDR2 400/533/667 memory "

later

"2 SO-DIMM memory slots (no memory on board)
Up to 2GB DDR2 RAM
512/ 1024MB memory modules 533/667MHz"

when I see that I know theres something wrong. They've made a mistake in the manual -and if they make one, they may have made two. I suspect max memory on this machine is actually 1GB
best get onto Fujitsu and see what they say. Could be you need a BIOS flash to make it work. Could be you have a fault SODIMM socket. Could be the wrong brand of memory (yes that really happens)
