CPU Upgrade

I have a K7S41GX Motherboard and an AMD Sempron 2800+ 1.99 GHz processor fitted. What is the best upgrade to give me a faster processor for this board?

RE: CPU Upgrade

That's a Socket A motherboard so you would need another Socket A processor to go in it. You won't be able to buy a new Socket A processor because they are obsolete and I don't think they ever made one that was much faster than the one you already have.

RE: CPU Upgrade

besides which the GX version of that board i s limited to 333FSB
The KS741 itself was able to handle 400 FSB but I've not seen one of those for sale in years
If you try to jumper the board for 400 you'll blow it. I know - I've done it
