You must have Vista Home or Home Premium which does not have the fax software, unless you want to upgrade to Vista Business then try looking here, http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Search/fax_software.html Beware that when it sya 'free' it may just be a trial or demo and you may have to pay for the full version. Dave.
Daniel I would choose Nod32 or Bit Defender, both have a good reputation and do have a subscription. They also have a much smaller 'footprint' than Norton or McAfee.
Daphne To send and receive faxes using a modem, firstly make sure that you've attached an analog phone line to your computer. Windows will automatically detect your modem during the setup process. Click the Start button , click All Programs, and then click Windows Fax and Scan. Click New Fax on the toolbar, and then, in the Fax Setup Wizard, follow the instructions for connecting to a fax modem. This should work - good luck. Dave.
