I have a HP Compaq nx9005 laptop running Windows XP. It has recently been running very hot (and fan running at high speed most of the time). Now it does not boot up at all. I switch on and the 3 lights for CAPS LOCK, SCROLL LOCK and NUM LOCK) come on, and then the laptop switches off again within 20 seconds. The boot process does not start at all and the screen remains blank. Also, even though the power is connected the charging light does not show. I have removed the battery and tried to start with just the power cord connected and the same happens - so power is getting to the device. I have also tried to boot from the recovery disc but the same happens (switches itself off). |
