I have a home built PC that has been working fine for more than months. It has now decided that it will not boot at all although it does seem to go through POST. Unfortunately there is no screen activity or USB activity at all from any ports on the MB or case. The fans spin (all of them!) and the graphics card fan spins up as well as the CPU fan and power supply fans. I have checked the power supplies and they seem fine although I have no kit to test the power output. As I have no screen output I do not know if the system is progressing a boot or not. As I have tried another graphics card with no success as well as a new MB CPU and PS I am at a loss. The specification is an ANTEC P190 case with Neolink 1200w power supplies. Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 S775 nForce motherboard Intel core Quad Q6600 2.4GHZ 8MB 1066FSB 4x1GB matched pair Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2 - 8500C5 Duel Channel RAM x 500GB Samsung S300 16MB 7200RPM Hard Disks configured in a disk RAID5 array + one back-up disk + an external 750GB Freeagent Pro USM drive Gainward GEFORCE 8800GTX 768MB PCIE DVI graphics card. The system also has a Belkin 1500VA UPS back-Up battery. The screen is a Viewsonic VX2245wm 22" TFT with a logitec G15 USB gaming keyboard and logitec USB laser mouse. The OS is MS VISTA Ultimate bit. What I need is a technical expert who is used to building their own systems and knows the potential issues that hybrid systems can have. As I have said before this system has run flawlessly for months and contains around 300GB of data across the RAID array. I have a recent PC full system back up on the external drive and on an internal disk. Please can any one help! |
